I first met Lauren and Al just over a year ago at their home in Cornwall, where we talked about their vision for their wedding this June. Actually, during that first meeting, Al spent most of his time outside while Lauren, her mom and I sat in the kitchen talking about the dress, the shoes, the ceremony and all things wedding 🙂 Despite Al’s initial shyness, I was able to see his fun, goofy and endearing side during the engagement session that we shot at Cooper’s Marsh last June… and his willingness to put his camera-shyness (is that a word??) behind him to make Lauren happy truly let me appreciate the love that they had for each other.
Lauren had meticulously planned every last detail of her romantic Château Vaudreuil wedding, right down to the outdoor ceremony under the gazebo by the water… but with an overcast day and the threat of rain, we waited literally until the last possible moment to find out if the ceremony would have to be moved due to rain. Thankfully, the rain held off and although the temperature was cool, the warmth and love of everyone in attendance made the outdoor ceremony perfect.
Lauren and Al wanted fun group shots on the beautiful grounds of Château Vaudreuil, so I must give a BIG shout out of appreciation to the entire bridal party for toughing out the chilly weather (especially the girls in their very short dresses!!) and for running, jumping and doing pretty much whatever was asked of them to make Lauren & Al’s day unforgettable. After the portrait session, we moved inside to a fairytale purple extravaganza, with the flowers and decor provided by Tying The Knot from Cornwall. The intimate celebration of family and friends was filled with some heartfelt speeches – and some hilarious home videos that had everyone in stiches! There were so many happy tears that the staff at Château Vaudreuil must have been scrambling to refill the Kleenex boxes!!
Here are a few of my favorite shots from Lauren & Al’s perfect day:
