Maria is originally from Montreal, but moved to Italy to attend university. That’s where she met Tito and fell in love. Although they now live in Milan, they chose to get married in Montreal and arranged to have the ceremony at the beautiful St. Thomas church in Hudson, followed by an elegant reception for close friends and family at the Chateau Vaudreuil.
Maria contacted me from Milan and we coordinated the entire wedding shoot via e-mail! I met the couple for the first time a week before the wedding and I instantly liked their fun, laid-back attitude. Tito kept glancing at Maria with a look that only a man in love has. It was so sweet!
Tito had that same look of adoration and anticipation in his eyes while he waited for Maria to arrive at the church. Maria was fashionably late… It seems that while the friends & relatives from Italy all managed to find the church, the bride and her family (who were from Montreal) had problems with directions
After the ceremony, we headed to Chateau Vaudreuil for portraits. While the adults enjoyed champagne on the terrace, the kids relished in the opportunity to be kids… When it came time to get all those little nieces and nephews together for photos I really wished I had an assistant with me – or maybe a professional wrangler! Whew, did I ever have that much energy??
I had so much fun being a part of this special day with this amazing couple, who as I write this are off on a whirlwhind honeymoon around the world. Just wish they had hired me to photograph THAT!!
