Jordana & Tom’s Wonderful Winter Wedding | Montreal Wedding Photographer

I met Jordana and Tom a few months ago when they came to my office to discuss photography for their wedding.  From the moment they walked in, hand in hand, I could see the that this was a couple who were truly in love.  As they told me a little about how their love story began and shared their thoughts and ideas for their winter wedding at the Willow Place Inn, I had an inkling that it would be something really special and I knew that I wanted to be a part of it.  I was so thrilled when they chose me as their photographer.

As I suspected, Jordana and Tom’s wonderful winter wedding was beautiful, intimate and overflowing with love and support from all the family and friends who were in attendance.  It seemed as though everyone wanted to make a toast to this incredible couple and I was touched by the sincerity and thought that was put into each one.  Jordana’s mother, Dianne Sessenwein, even wrote a poem for the occasion!  Dianne’s words tell their story better than I ever could and she has graciously allowed me to share her poem here, which I hope you will enjoy as much as everyone did on December 28th:

  – By Dianne Sessenwein

Jordana and Tom today is your wedding day.
Your family and friends are here.  We have something to say.
Will it be mean or will it be sweet?
That’s for you to find out!  Ain’t that neat??

A word of explanation to those who are unaware,
There is a Sessenwein tradition for each monumental affair.
A poem is lovingly prepared for each special event.
Today’s “ode” is in celebration of a love “heaven sent”!!

The “love” which is being celebrated began seven years ago.
It blossomed in the season when suntans were aglow.
It was a memorable summer.  It was two thousand and three,
When two young lifeguards connected, with glee.

Tom was employed at Cedar Park Pool, as was JD.
Atseventeen and nineteen, they were somewhat fancy-free.
Tom noticed Jordana and thought she was cute.
Especially in her work uniform, a sleek Speedo suit!!!

It was reported to us that JD had been kissed, while waiting in a line,
By a strong, handsome, young man; a type so fine.
It was on a lifeguard outing to the Medley, in Montreal.
It was the beginning of her love for a man so gentile and so tall!!

Tom fell for that gal, so cute and so full of life.
Little did he know that she would eventually become his wife.
The two of them stood together, so strong and as one.
Even back then… when their love had just begun.

A few years went by and their commitment grew.
Everyone could see it.  Their love was “true blue”.
The families knew that, in time, they would be joined as one.
The Sessenweins proud of their daughter; the Kuchirans of their son.

I would now like to share a “personal” thought or two.
Not athought of mine, but of the bride and groom of new.
What did they know that made them decide,
That their love should be celebrated; the knot should be tied.

I asked them a few questions and probed a little bit.
“What do you mean to each other?   Why is it a fit?
Tell me the details because I want to share what you think,
About two hearts that connected and made a strong link.”
I received a response.  It was powerful and strong.
They each gave reasons why to each other they belong.
They substantiated their love with explanation and deep thought,
Of a firm and solid basis for tying “that” knot.
They cherish each minute that together they spend.
Their love cannot be broken, it will not bend.
They make games out of everything, each and every day.
They often feel like little kids who love to play.
Tom makes Jordana happy because he shows her he cares.
He listens intently when her soul she bares.
He supports all she does, school, synchro and all the rest.
He adores her deeply and thinks she is the best!!
On the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night,
They might bump into each other, but take time to hug tight.
JD sleepily whispers and says with a happy sigh,
I love you, Tom! You are my guy!
Tom reports JD is kind.  This genuine kindness she shares.
Her enthusiasm is contagious.  Her thoughtfulness shows she cares.
She is enthusiastic, competitive, delicate but also strong.
She is “hot” and beautiful.  He’s glad to each other they belong.
They have dreams and plans. They talk and they share.
JD supports Tom when difficult times he has had to bear.
Tom often says JD’s inner strength is truly immense.
She has been by his side when his life has been tense.
These are some reasons why we are present tonight.
It’s all about love; a love so strong and so very right.
May this also be a reminder to all those who are here,
To celebrate a cherished connection with those who are dear.
Regardless of the paths we have taken on the “road of life”,
May we be reminded as we see this new husband and wife.
To celebrate those whom are treasured and those whom we adore,
And those whom we have loved, who are with us no more.
So, here is a toast to Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Kuchiran,
This union was part of “a bigger” plan.
May your years together be filled with happiness, love and joy.
As we see it, you’ve been blessed with the “Real McCoy”!!!!

JD & Tom, I truly enjoyed being a part of your special day and I wish you both a life filled with all the happiness and love that surrounded you on your wedding day.  I know that yours is a love story that will have a fairy tale ending and I look forward to being there to document more of your happily ever after 🙂

Hugs & Kisses
