Little creatures… BIG impact.

Tonight we said goodbye to Max. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma on the weekend. An ultrasound showed that his lymph nodes were enlarged to as much as 3.5 cm (a normal size for a cat is 0.5cm) and he had many other symptoms that supported the diagnosis. Nonetheless, we wanted to give him a chance, […]

Welcome to the Neighborhood!

As most people know, July 1st is the official unofficial moving day here in Montreal.  This means that we often get new neighbors every year around this time… and I am always curious to see who’s moved into the neighborhood.  Imagine my surprise when I walked out the front door today, glimpsed into the yard next door […]

Riley’s 1st Christmas

Last year my sister gave birth to a beautiful little girl and I became an aunt for the first time.  More importantly, my mother became a grandmother for the first time – definitely a milestone for her, and one that she had been looking forward to since my siblings and I reached puberty.  OK, well […]

Bad Cats, Blue Jays and Guardian Angels

Yesterday morning as Gaby was having his habitual 2-hour bath (This is apparently where he comes up with all his design ideas, so I have asked our accountant if we can deduct the renovation costs as a business expense!), I was snuggled up in bed with the boos (AKA the 1-year old cats) reading, “Eat, […]

Naked as a blue jay while helping one in the backyard…..I also wish there was a camera attached to your hip at that particular time! What was the view like when you ran into the bathroom as Gaby was hanging out the window yelling at those cats? Great story 🙂

Stephane Brazeau - August 18, 2010 - 5:26 pm

You broke nature’s cycle! There is like 1000000 cats in your backyard, one would think you accepted the fact that a bird would get a beat up once in a while… 😉

melissa - August 18, 2010 - 4:15 pm

What a funny story and you last line is very cute.
